I haven been quite busy catching up on writing and reviewing manuscripts so this update will more or less be just a slide show of the last 2 sites that we visited before coming home to Oklahoma. Sites 5 and 6 of the Neon Ants 2017 project visited the beautiful Myles Standish State Forest in Mass and the famous Cedar Creek LTER in Minnesota. Myles Standish is a pine barren located near the eastern seaboard with some of the highest ant diversity I have seen on this trip and probably the highest in the state. The weather was perfect, warm, and full of lovely finds. Cedar Creek in Minnesota is one of the more famous homes of ecological research, primarily due to David Tilman. Visiting the oak-maple forest for our research and then stopping by the “Tilman plots” will be an experience I will never forget. Reading about well designed and replicated experiments are one thing, seeing them in person is truly something else. On to the pictures!
