The 2017 leg of the Neon Ants project is officially underway! So far we have visited two sites: (1) Mark Twain National Forest, Missouri and (2) Bankhead National Forest, Alabama. Both forests were quite nice, albeit the humidity is always surprising in the south.

Next post I will add some images and details of what we are doing but it is really exciting finally getting to take part of a geographical study with my favorite taxon, ants! We are headed to the Virginia Coast Reserve LTER, which looks lovely, before headed farther north to Harvard Forest Massachusetts.
