I am excited to announce our first paper of 2016! This was a really fun project that we worked on in the latter half of 2015 with new county and state records for a number of ant species. We also found interesting differences in patterns of local diversity between habitat types. We hope to follow this work up with new data from Marshall County, Oklahoma which is home to the University of Oklahoma biological station. This area is poorly documented with previous records topping out at 5 species…Check back next year where we should be adding about 40 county records and a couple of new state records!
I will be giving an invited seminar next week on our work involving biodiversity, disturbance events, stable isotopes, and thermal tolerance. PHEW! I am also hoping to submit the stable isotope work for publication in the next month with the disturbance manuscript not too far behind. Keeping the paper train rolling.
